The silicone ring pessary contains a steel spring filling to keep its shape and may be used in patients with complaints of mild genital prolapse or urinary incontinence.
The pelvic floor serves as support for the pessary. The ring pessaries may prevent milder forms of stress incontinence.
The pessary can be inserted and removed by the patient herself.
Sizes range from 50 to 100 mm in 5mm increments.
The pessary with the smallest diameter that supports the pelvic should be prescribed.
Fitting of the Ring pessary
Positioned similar to a contraceptive diaphragm. To size – the length of the vaginal vault is measured with the examining finger and the size of the pessary is approximated to your fingers.
Measure the distance from the posterior fornix to the pubic notch and note where that is on your finger. To insert the Ring pessary, foldit so that the arc points downward and is directed past the cervix into the posterior fornix. It will spring open once released.
A one quarter turn of this pessary is recommended to prevent it from folding and being expelled. The examining finger should be able to sweep between the vaginal wall and the ring pessary. If there is too much or too little space the pessary must be removed and another size inserted. After fitting the pessary the patient should stand up and bear down. The pessary should not be so loose that it can be expelled nor should it be too tight that it causes any discomfort.

I like my body. It has served me well for 60 years. So I was appalled when the doctor said I had a prolapse and needed a hysterectomy. What? Just because of some saggy muscles! No way! She gave me a hard white ring to try which was so awful I almost begged for the operation. Then I decided to do some research of my own and I discovered MyPessary.Three years on and I haven't looked back. I manage everything myself and haven't been back to see the doctor. THANK YOU SO MUCH

I had been given a rock solid white pessary from the clinic which was literally SOLID! I have very weak hands and squeezing it together to fit it was vertually impossible, this one is so easy to fit but strong enough to give me support.
A very happy cusotmer
